| Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport management, physical education, or related field and 1-2 years experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a good understanding of programming, league scheduling, budgeting and personnel management. Effectively market and expand program areas to meet the needs of the community. Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team atmosphere. Exhibit good judgment and courtesy with internal and external customers. Certified Park and Recreation Professional a plus. |
| Duties: | Responsible for planning, developing, maintaining, administering and supervising recreation and athletic programming for the Decatur Park District. Current responsibilities include: Supervision of Rotary park including tournaments, adult softball and sand volleyball leagues, sailing lessons and Sunfish Club, Firecracker Road Run, Turkey Trot, youth sports, sports camps, after school programming and sport facility supervision. Responsibilities will include some evening and weekend work. |
