Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in parks and recreation administration, sports management, physical education or a related field. Three years of increasingly responsible experience in a public recreation or park agency, including two years of supervisory responsibility. Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.

This is a fast paced position which requires strong knowledge and skill in a variety of disciplines including program development, facility operations, cash handling procedures, staff development, budget development, policy development, brochure preparation, risk management, customer service and community involvement.

Exceptional communication skills are required along with excellent organizational and high caliber customer service skills. Ideal candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter and dedicated with the ability to motivate and encourage staff. Individual should be energetic and personable and promote team spirit.
Duties: The Facility Supervisor is a member of the recreation department and reports to the Superintendent of Recreation. The Facility Supervisor is a full time position that requires a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. This person is responsible for the overall general operations of the Clauss Recreation Center.

1. Responsible for overseeing the front desk operations. Those operations include processing program registration, answering the telephone, operating the cash register, providing general customer service to the public.
2. Ensure the building is properly staffed during hours of operation from open to close.
3. Schedule the use of facilities for area programs and events, including the necessary program set-ups and cleaning.
4. Coordinate and facilitate requests by the public for facility rentals including the CRC, Lodge, Pavilion and other district facilities.
5. Recruits, selects and employs adequate staff to effectively operate the CRC front desk and facility.
6. Perform functions of part time staff, in their absence, or secure additional assistance when needed.
7. Orientates, trains and supervises all assigned part-time staff members.
8. Prepares annual job performance evaluations for all assigned part-time staff.
9. Acts on employee problems in a timely and effective manner.
10. Completes payroll information for assigned staff bi-weekly as needed.
11. Maintains accurate financial closing records and reports.
12. Responsible for daily deposits.
13. Administration of program payment plans as necessary.
14. Prepares and manages annual budgets.
15. Supervises the expenditure of funds and income for assigned programs and operates within the established budget.
16. Orders, purchases and coordinates office supplies and facility equipment.
17. Works with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to disseminate news letters, flyers, press releases, the brochure and other public relations materials to promote the park district.
18. Cooperates with the Parks Department to ensure quality field and facility environments.
19. Receives and responds to citizen inquires and complaints.
20. Implements appropriate safety and disciplinary practices and is a member of the safety committee.
21. Responsible for the operation of a variety of office equipment, including computers, printers, calculators, copier, fax machine, telephones, postage machine, laminator, etc.
22. Maintains a clean, safe and orderly working environment.
23. Supports district policies and operational procedures.
24. Attends training sessions as identified by the Superintendent of Recreation.
25. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required by the Superintendent of Recreation.
