Town of Colchester (CT) Summer Internship


OB SUMMARY
Excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate that is interested in gaining hands-on experience in the Parks and Recreation field working with a very active, award-winning community Parks and Recreation Department. Position will involve all aspects of the department including special events, recreation programming, park management, customer service and promotion.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has many opportunities that can include but are not limited to the following:

* Preparation, promotion and supervision of summer events
* Preparation of the Fall Recreation Program
* Planning & Implementation of Day Camp Staff Training
* Data Input and Reporting with recreation software (RecWare Safari)
* Volunteer recruitment, Retention & Recognition
* Supervision of Park Rangers and other seasonal employees

WORK SCHEDULE
Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. (flexible) with some nights and weekends.

NOTES:
Additional Salary Information: For school credit only

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age with a valid Drivers License. Prefer college graduate or college student majoring in Parks & Recreation Management - must have career goal in field of Recreation. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills needed.
